Exhibition Statement
Design is more than just pixels and plywood - it is a way of making sense of the world. Over the last three years, we have learned how to make and how to think, and we believe these two activities are fundamentally linked. Our work attempts to EXPLORE and respond to the built environment by drawing out the structures and concepts that speak to us. We are often asked to TRANSLATE objects and processes that already exist into something new; our challenge is to create something infused with our own attitudes and ideas while remarking on previous forms and functions. We believe that good design can PROVOKE questions about social, political and environmental concerns. At the same time, we believe in the power of EXPERIENCE, and much of our work relies on how individuals interact with and respond to the things they see, hear, touch, and taste. We ask that you approach our work knowing it will ask something of you and we hope to create conversations between you and your environment that extend beyond this show.
