Spring 2012 | Austin, TX
Each year, the Texas Film Hall of Fame (now Texas Film Awards) brings together legends of cinema and television that have a connection to Texas. The event, which features red carpet arrivals, a catered dinner, awards ceremony, live auction, and concert, serves as the primary fund raiser for the Austin Film Society programs, awarding cash grants for emerging Texas filmmakers. The 2012 party was held at Austin City Limits Moody Theatre, broadcast live, and featured guests including Matthew McConaughey, Robert Rodriguez, Angie Dickenson, and Meat Loaf, with musical performance by Grupo Fantasma.

As Assistant Creative Director, I helped create the show’s artistic direction and over saw the production of all visual aspects of the event, including print material, costumes, screen graphics, display and centerpiece sculptures. I coordinated the work of three design studios, all working on different aspects of the show, to ensure a cohesive, and visually stimulating experience. I also designed the sponsorship package which was distributed to major corporations across the state to encourage investors to financially sponsor the event.

With Houndstooth Studio, one of three creative partners, I worked on the graphic design and animation for the stage and lobby screens. We held a live action shoot to create content, as well as drew unique illustrations to accompany the graphic elements provided by the print designers. Houndstooth also designed, directed, and operated the exterior lighting features which were projected from a neighboring building, and amplified the venue’s exterior atmosphere at a macro scale.
